19. Tribute

Mother's day began with the most apt and beautiful roots, not in flowers cards or commercialism; it started as an effort for peace in the times of the American civil war. It was about mothers, being all the strength, courage, and hardiness it takes to be a mother - getting together to be champions for a cause in their position of valour. it is interesting to imagine that if this original cause had been maintained, what impact it could be to the world of today...for theirs is a position that is uncomparable to any other; being women, trained leaders, strengthened by the years of training in courage and resilience.

Rediscover mother's day here.

What we do have, though, is mothers and women fighting for different causes each and every day; in governments, in social concerns, in offices, in schools, in homes - and we all can name at the drop of a hat women who have been mothers to us,who have invested into our lives and have made us who we are. They are precious gems, strong, amazing, beautiful individuals - they are the soldiers who deserve the highest honors, each of them, medals for the nations their hands have built.
for my mama:

every good thing that i am and have, is the testament of your faith and strength. there are things i achieve until today that amaze me-looking around there is nothing i can see that merits me all these. but i know in my heart that it is this : your prayers for us all our lives, that have kept us here and made any of this possible.
